How Canada Express Entry works

Canada Express Entry is an online system that Government use to manage immigration applications from skilled workers.

There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:

As of my last update in January 2024, Canada has several immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. Here are three prominent ones:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP):

  2. This program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents of Canada. To be eligible, candidates must meet certain criteria including having skilled work experience, language proficiency, and education level.

  3. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP):

  4. This program is for skilled tradespeople who want to become permanent residents of Canada. To be eligible, candidates must have at least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the five years before applying, meet language requirements, and have a valid job offer or certificate of qualification in that trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

  5. Canadian Experience Class (CEC):

  6. This program is for individuals who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. To be eligible, candidates must have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada, meet language requirements, and plan to live outside of Quebec.
