Canada Express Entry Draw 298: Provincial Nominee Draw Invites 1,499 Candidates

The latest Canadian Express Entry draw was just held. Express Entry draw 298 saw the Lowest CRS score of 663 and invited 1,499 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply.

The tie-breaking rule means if there is more than one candidate with a CRS score of 663, then the cut-off is based on this date and time of their profile submission.

Invited candidates will now have 60 days to respond to the invitations to apply by submitting complete applications supporting the information used to create their EE profiles.

Canada has conducted a new Express Entry draw, issuing 1,499 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This was the first EE draw in the month of June.  

The June 19 draw saw a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 663 points – 13 points lower than the PNP draw before that, which was conducted on May 30, 2024, had a minimum CRS score of 676 points, and issued 2,985 ITAs.   

The last draw was a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw and was held on May 31. It issued 3,000 ITAs with a minimum CRS of 522.   

Last year, Canada conducted the following draws:   

 
 
  • 19 all-program draws   
  • Five PNP draws   
  • Six draws targeted at French speakers   
  • Three draws targeted at healthcare occupations   
  • Two draws targeted at STEM occupations   
  • Two draws targeted at skilled trades   
  • Two draws targeted at transport jobs   
  • Two draws targeted at agriculture and agri-food occupations   
  • One draw targeted at Federal Skilled Worker candidates  

 

  • This year, the following draws have been conducted:   

    • Nine all-program draws   
    • Four draws targeted at French speakers   
    • One draw targeted at transport jobs   
    • One draw targeted at agriculture and agri-food occupations   
    • One draw targeted at healthcare occupations   
    • One draw targeted at STEM occupations   
    • Two PNP draws   
    • One CEC draw  

    IRCC issued 110,266 ITAs in 2023, after inviting 45,115 candidates in the whole of 2022.   

    IRCC issued a record 114,431 ITAs in 2021, to all Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates. It beat the previous record of 107,350 set in 2020. 

    Canada had a record immigration target of 465,000 for 2023, which it plans to surpass by setting the target of 485,000 permanent residency invites in 2024.   

    The latest draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on January 19, 2024, at 06:10 am EST. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.   

    This was the 20th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2024 and 298th overall.   

    Candidates have a 60-day window to submit their applications, which will be processed within the six-month standard.
